      Out of control teen lands in jail

      Joseph Parton charged with first-degree property damage


      A Moberly, Missouri teen is in custody after causing nearly $1,000 in damage at the Bruce Normile Juvenile Justice Center in Kirksville.


      Joseph Parton, 18, is charged with first-degree property damage following the incident.



      He is being held in the Adair County jail on $10,00 cash only bond.


      According to court papers, Kirksville police officers were called to Bruce Normile in connection with an out-of-control teenager.


      When officers arrived, they found Parton had been tearing his room apart and throwing drywall out of the room and onto the first floor where others were located.


      A preliminary estimate of the damage to the walls and other items was over $900.
