      Packwood bank robber charged in second robbery

      At approximately 10:00 a.m. October 29, 2010, an Emergency 911 call came into the Jefferson County Law Center that the Pilot Grove Savings Bank in Packwood, Iowa had been robbed. The information provided was that a 6 foot tall skinny male wearing black pants, black sweatshirt, and a blue ski mask had robbed the bank at knifepoint and fled on foot with an unknown amount of currency. Law enforcement officers immediately responded to the area and set up a perimeter and began a search for the individual.

      At approximately 12:20 p.m. an individual was apprehended north of Batavia when a citizen called in that they saw an individual running across his field. Officers apprehended the suspect with an undisclosed amount of money and a knife, as well as a ski mask.

      Anthony Michael Koehlhoeffer, Age 20, Date of Birth April 4, 1990, 505 1/2 west Madison, Fairfield, Iowa was arrested and charged with Robbery in the First Degree, a Class B Felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison; 2 counts of Assault on a Police Officer, each serious misdemeanors punishable by up to 1 year in the county jail; 1 count of Assault on a Police Officer causing bodily injury, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in prison; Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a class D felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison; and Interference With Official Acts Causing Bodily Injury, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to 2 years in prison.

      After his arrest, new information was gathered that implicated Koehlhoeffer in the Robbery and Burglary that occurred at McDonald TMs in Fairfield, Iowa on October 3, 2010 in the Early in the morning. In addition to the above charges, Koehlhoeffer has been charged with Robbery in the First Degree and Burglary in the First Degree for that incident. Those charges are both Class B felonies punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
