Plane missing as it made final approach into Kirksville Regional Airport

Law enforcement agencies in the Kirksville area believe they have located a downed aircraft that was making its final approach into Kirksville Regional Airport Tuesday evening.
The last radar and radio contact with the Piper PA-32 was around 7:15 p.m. when it was approximately three miles northeast of the airport.
At 9:25 p.m., a searcher reported that he had located the single-engine plane approximately 25 feet from Quail Lane between Foxtrot Lane and Hedgepath Lane.
The FAA tells KTVO the aircraft took off from Centennial Airport in Denver Tuesday afternoon.
The pilot is believed to be the only person onboard, but his or her name isn't known at this time.
Personnel from the Adair County Sheriffâ??s Office, Kirksville Police Department, Kirksville Regional Airport as well as local fire departments are among those who were searching for the missing plane.
