Police investigate fire in Centerville Square

The Centerville Law Center received multiple reports of a fire in the 300 block of North 12th Street, on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.

Officers immediately responded to the location, an alley behind businesses on the west side of the Centerville Square, and found the fire near a dumpster. Officers report flames were climbing up the rear wall of one of the buildings, so they proceeded to evacuate the area.

The Centerville Fire Department arrived on the scene and contained the fire to a small area of the building and prevented it from spreading any further.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined and the Centerville Police Department continues to investigate.

A reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for the fire.
