Power outage caused by curious animal
Hundreds of Kirksville residents were without power overnight thanks to a curious animal.
An Ameren spokesperson in St. Louis tells KTVO that shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday just under 1,000 customers lost power when an animal made its way into a substation in the southwest part of Kirksville.
Nearly 600 customers were back on line by about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
The remaining customers had power restored about an hour later.
