Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes to be offered
Staff of the Northeast Missouri Rural Health Network announce they will be offering free Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes in Kirksville and in Novinger.
The six week series of classes will begin on Tuesday, February 11th from 1 â?? 3 p.m. at the 1st United Methodist Church at 300 East Washington in Kirksville and Tuesday, March 4th from 6:30-8 p.m. at West Chariton Fellowship Church along Route O in downtown Novinger.
Whether helping a family member, friend, someone who lives in the home, in a nursing home or across the country caregivers of any age can benefit from the classes. Topics include taking care of yourself, identifying and reducing personal stress, communicating feelings, needs and concerns, communicating in challenging situations, learning from our emotions, and mastering caregiving decisions. A handbook and relaxation tape will be provided to all attendees free of charge.
The program is being offered through a contract with the Northeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging under the Older Americans Act Programs funding.
