If you live in Kirksville, you will soon be paying more to have your trash and recyclables hauled away.
The city said the contract it signed with Veolia ES Solid Waste Midwest, LLC in March 2010 allows the company to re-evaluate its expenses every year and make rate adjustments to cover the rising costs of fuel and labor.
On your next bill, you will see the monthly fee for trash and recycling services increase to $10.81 per household.
The senior citizen rate will go up to $8.95 a month.
Veolia is also tacking on a $.61 fuel surcharge each month.
That surcharge could be taken off in the future if fuel prices go down.
Veoliaâ??s price increase went into effect on April 1, 2012.
