President Obama mask wearing clown is from the Heartland

This photo provided by Jameson Hsieh shows a clown wearing a mask intended to look like President Obama at the Missouri State Fair.

It was video from a cell phone that has caused an uproar across the nation, a rodeo clown at the Missouri State Fair wearing a President Obama mask. The clown has since been banned from the fair.

So who is the guy behind the mask?

Tom "Tuffy" Gessling is from the small town of Atlanta, Missouri.

â??I know Tuffy. He's as American as any of us and I do not believe in any harm. He's paid to be a funny man. He was trying to be funny,â?? said Chris Waddle of Atlanta.

Whether Tuffy the Clown was trying to be funny or not, this has prompted quite the discussion on what is acceptable and what's not and should there be restrictions.

â??You can't do anything anymore for fear of people coming down on you and I don't think it's right. I think the guy didn't mean anything by it at all and I they ought to just leave him alone and go on,â?? said Danny Wyatt of Macon.

â??I think he does a good job at it and if people have seen some of his other performances, I mean he does it all the time. He's a good guy and he's good at what does,â?? Waddle said.

â??I think some of these people need to get a life, you know,â?? Wyatt said.

Tuffy has since been invited to the Lone Start State Fair by Texas Rep. Steve Stockman.
