Probation violations send Heartland drug dealer back to prison

Adair County Prosecutor Matt Wilson says Aaron Smyser 46, of of Kirksville was sent back to the Missouri Department of Corrections.

A convicted Kirksville drug dealer who has been in trouble with the law multiple times is now headed back to prison.

Adair County Prosecutor Matt Wilson says Aaron Smyser 46, of Kirksville, was sent back to the Missouri Department of Corrections Monday after an extended probation violation hearing.

Smyser was originally found guilty of two counts of Distributing Methamphetamine within 1,000 Feet of a School (Ray Miller Elementary in Kirksville) in July 2015. Prosecutors said he sold the drugs to an undercover agent.

After multiple probation violations, the judge Monday ordered Smyser to serve his previously suspended sentence of 20 years.
