Pseudoephedrine ordinance goes in effect
Citizens now need a doctor's prescription to buy most pseudoephedrine products at pharmacies in Kirksville.
A new city-wide ordinance went into effect at midnight on May 1st.
Back in February, by a vote of three-to-two, the Kirksville City Council passed an ordinance making it more difficult for meth-makers to get their hands on this key ingredient used in making meth.
The new ordinance requires a prescription to buy most pseudoephedrine products at any pharmacy in Kirksville.
Adair County Sheriff Robert Hardwick says he's seen a decrease in the purchase of pseudoephedrine products since the passing of the new ordinance.
