RAGBRAI riders meet in Keosauqua en route to final destination

As RAGBRAI participants left Fairfield, the cyclists pedaled 20 miles south to meet in Keosauqua.

Riders could get refreshments downtown and learn all about what the town in Van Buren County has to offer at the Welcome Center. Local bakers in town even made over 50 pies for people streaming through, but they were long gone before 10 a.m.

â??It has been a very exciting day in the villages of Van Buren,â?? Stacey Reese, Executive Director of Tourism for the Villages of Van Buren said. â??I think the first riders came through about 5'oclock this morning, and we were just getting set-up, so we weren't quite ready, but there has been a steady flow all morning, and so many bikes it was just unreal. It was very exciting.â??

Before riders went on their way, some stopped by the local chiropractor's office for an adjustment. People have got to be feeling some pain after cycling over 400 miles. The final destination was in Fort Madison.
