RC Flyers donate $9k to support low-income veterans
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
Wapello County Veterans Affairs is looking for low-income families to support.
Last winter, RC Flyers members in Wapello, Davis and Mahaska counties donated $9,000 to the department to help low-income veterans in Wapello County.
Director of Wapello County Veterans Affairs Terry Bradley told KTVO he can’t give veterans the money directly, but he can put it towards the purchase of handicap equipment or medical services.
“If you have an issue that the VA doesn’t cover, Medicare doesn’t cover, Medicaid doesn’t cover, or won’t cover at all, please come talk to me,” Bradley said.
Bradley is hoping to support at least nine different veterans with this donation.
