Mon, 24 Mar 2014 20:04:28 GMT — Indian Hills Community College will host its 10th annual Diversity Conference on Friday, March 28. Each year, the conference aims to not only promote diversity, but recognize that diversity comes in many different forms. This year's conference will feature two keynote speakers; Joe Torillo, a 9/11 survivor, and Nicole Kelly, who was born without a left forearm and was crowned Miss Iowa in 2013. Organizers of the conference hope guests will walk away learning more than they anticipated. "The Diversity Conference is a time [to learn about] a whole bunch of different topics and what we're providing this year is two great keynotes and also a lot of different breakout sessions that are really pertinent to today, not just the past, but pertinent to today's topics," said Ashely Albertson, of Indian Hills' International Affairs Department. Albertson said 590 people have registered for the conference so far, and they expect about 50-75 walk-ins on the day of the conference. The conference begins at 8:45 a.m. at the Hellyer Center and day-of registration begins at 8 a.m. Online registration is also available through Wednesday, March 26. To register online, click here.
