Iowa Rep. Todd Prichard hosts a meet and greet in Ottumwa Thursday after entering the race for governor/KTVO

Iowa Rep. Todd Prichard was in Ottumwa Thursday after just joining the race for governor.

Prichard announced Tuesday that he will be seeking the Democratic nomination in the 2018 election.

His Ottumwa visit will be one of many meet and greets throughout the state.

During Thursday’s visit, Prichard told constituents the recent cutback on educational funding is a major issue he will try to address.

He's also proposing free community college tuition for all Iowans.

Thursday’s discussion also criticized the state's new voter ID law, lack of mental health services and recent restrictions put on worker's rights.
