On Tuesday, officers responded to North Elson Street in Kirksville to a report of a vehicle theft.
Jerry Davis, 42, of Edina, is charged with stealing his ex-girlfriends car, which he had a spare key for.
According to the police report, Davisâ?? girlfriend called him after her vehicle was taken and he brought it back. Police then questioned Davis and arrested him for the theft of the motor vehicle.
He was also charged with two felony counts of possession of the controlled substances, Hydrocodone and Oxycodone, along with a misdemeanor of possession of up to 35 grams of Marijuana and a misdemeanor of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Davis said he took the car claiming his ex-girlfriend had some of his possessions. He is free on bond.
