Report of fraudulent prescription lands Fairfield woman in jail

A Fairfield woman has been arrested and faces multiple charges following the report of an individual attempting to fill a fraudulent prescription at the Fairfield Wal-Mart Pharmacy.
Heather J. Vorhies, 29, has been charged with Prohibited Acts (fraudulent prescription) a Class C Felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) a Serious Misdemeanor punishable up one year in prison, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a simple misdemeanor punishable up to 30 days in jail and up to $625 fine.
During the course of the investigation, a search warrant was executed on Vorhiesâ?? residence and officers with the Fairfield Police Department located a prescription pad, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Vorhies is alleged to have stolen the prescription pad from Roth Dentist Office. At this point, three patients may have had part of their personal information compromised. Dr. Roth is in the process of notifying his patients. The Fairfield Police Department will be assisting these individuals with registering as Identity Theft Victims.
The investigation is on-going and additional charges are pending.
