Residents getting a chance to look over county budget
Wed, 29 Jan 2014 03:00:00 GMT —
Adair County residents had a chance to have a say once again over this year's budget.
Since January 16, the 2014 Adair County Budget has been on display for public input at the Adair County Clerk's Office at the Adair County Courthouse in Kirksville.
Required by law, residents were able to look over the budget and get a chance to address concerns or ask questions.
"It's been a little bit of everything. People are interested on how the county will be spending their money. Some had a few specific questions about roads and bridges and how they are going to be funded for 2014. Different things like that," said Adair County Clerk Sandy Collop.
The county commission has met with all department heads and elected officials about the budget. They will finalize and approve the budget Wednesday afternoon so it can be sent to Jefferson City where it needs to be turned in by the state by Friday.
