The expansion of the River Hills Community Health Center is once again on the agenda for the Ottumwa City Council at Tuesday night's meeting.
The council is looking to authorize a survey of the parking lot between the health center and River Drive. The final plan would be to use that space for expansion on River Hills. The center would also be adding on a second story to its current facility.
Council members will also look at reconfiguring River Drive. The change being considered is going from four travel lanes to two travel lanes and two parking lanes.
"One of the things that we need to do would be to sit down with everybody within the Wapello Building and River Hills and work out a parking arrangement that would be suitable for everybody," said Joe Helfenberger, Ottumwa City Administrator.
Helfenberger said with the recent switch to two-way traffic in downtown Ottumwa, now is a good time for this project.
Next, that property survey will be completed as soon as possible and a public hearing will be set.
Then, the council will look at and approve finalized developer's agreements for the project.
