Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign kicks off next month, volunteers needed
The season of giving is right around the corner, which means you will soon see volunteers ringing bells for The Salvation Armyâ??s annual Red Kettle Campaign.
The campaign kicks off Thursday, November 26 and the kettles will be station at six different locations around Kirksville, including: Wal-Mart, Hy-Vee, JC Pennyâ??s, West Lakes and Walgreens.
The Salvation Army is in need of volunteers and anyone is welcome to sign up.
This yearâ??s goal is to collect $90,000 which will be used to help pay for services offered through The Salvation Army.
"Basically, if you look at our annual Red Kettle Campaign we make about a quarter of our annual budget in the four weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas,â?? said Lt. Brian Bump with the Salvation Army. â??If we donâ??t make this goal, basically we have to look at reallocating funds so that we can, one, provide assistance to others, and continue to maintain the day-to-day operations of The Salvation Army.â??
The campaign kicks off November 26 and runs until Noon on Christmas Eve.
