Santa Claus has made his way to the Heartland

Annabelle George visits the Adair County Courthouse to tell Santa what she wants this Christmas.

As anticipated, Santa made his way to town Friday night!

His first stop was the Adair County Courthouse in downtown Kirksville, where he arrived in a fire truck.

Parents and children lined the courthouse stairway to take pictures with their favorite guy and to tell him what they wanted for Christmas.

The Kirksville Downtown Improvement Committee was responsible for Santa's appearance and they plan for him to meet families at the same location every Saturday until Christmas Day.

One local girl had a few special wishes, as well as a personal gift for Santa.

â??I want a pair of crutches, 15 bandages that are 13 yards long and a list on how to make braces and the supplies and make up, I also want some money, and Iâ??m going to give Santa Claus these two presents,â?? says Annabelle George.

On Saturday, December 7, along with the Santa appearance, the Kirksville Downtown Improvement Committee will be rewarding a few students for contributing courthouse Christmas tree ornaments.
