Santa makes a final appearance in the Heartland

Santa made a stop at the Adair County Courthouse 4 days before Christmas.

Hopefully, everyone made a stop at the Adair County Courthouse Saturday afternoon for one last visit with Santa.

The Kirksville Downtown Improvement committee requested Santaâ??s presence for the Kirksville Community to make final gift requests.

Jolly Saint Nick also posed for pictures with a number of children.

The Downtown Improvement Committee also recognized those who won this year's Christmas coloring contest, as well as the winners of the window decorating contest.

â??We've had a coloring contest and made awards for that and also to top it off, we had a window decorating contest and from that we had three winners and those winners were, 3rd place- Dave Studio, 2nd place- Steveâ??s Garden Deli and 1st place- Spark's Cleaners and I think each was a very good success and hopefully we can add to it and have more next year,â?? sais Jerry Caldwell, a member of the Kirksville Downtown Improvement Committee.

We were also able to catch up with one of the winners of the coloring contest to get a little on her inspiration for such a work of art.

â??I thought of Christmas for the Christmas scarf and the color of a penguin," said contest winner Dawsyn Oyrs. Santa also traveled to the Kirksville Community Christmas Dinner to give out early Christmas gifts.
