Have you ever wondered what your child would do if a shooting happened at their school? What about the teachers and staff, are they prepared?
Those are the questions the Putnam County School District asked, and today, it answered them.
What would happen if someone came through the school doors and begin terrorizing the students and staff?
Well, we can't disclose their actual plan, but today teachers and some students along with local law enforcement and Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted an active shooter training.
Putnam County Schools Superintendent Heath Halley said ??Some of the Highway Patrolman got to play bad guys today, and go up and down the hallway to see how our systems work?|we found we have some issues we??re trying to correct, so if we ever had to do this we??re better prepared and can take care of our students.??
Halley said this has been about a three year process and overall the simulation went great.
