The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers and teams to participate in the Relay for Life of Schuyler County.
Relay for Life is the signature event of the American Cancer Society. The relay is a fun-filled event that brings communities together to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and empower others to fight back and raise awareness against cancer. Money raised at relays is divided among research, education, advocacy and service. Teams of any number are invited to participate in the event. Volunteers are also needed to organize, seek community support, and help plan entertainment.
"We just need more people to get involved, because we cannot let cancer control who we are and what we do," said Brenda Carlin of the American Cancer Society.
The date for the Schuyler County Relay for Life is set for sometime in September. The official day in September is to be released at next month's planning meeting. If you are interested in starting a team or volunteering for the event, contact Brenda Carlin at Brenda.Carlin@cancer.org or at (573) 221-1795.
