A Heartland sheriff now finds himself in trouble with the law.
Schuyler County Sheriff Josh Dole, 30, of Glenwood, was arrested at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
According to online court records, Dole faces five felony charges.
Those documents state Dole is charged with two counts of tampering with a witness and three counts of permitting escape.
At this time we have been unable to find out more about the circumstances that led to those charges, but we do know from court documents that the arrest warrant for Dole was requested by Adair County Prosecutor Matt Wilson.
Wilson could not be reached for comment on the matter Wednesday night.
Dole is being held in the Clark County Jail on $50,000 cash-only bond.
