A citizenâ??s tip leads to a Schuyler County drug arrest.
Tuesday afternoon, officers with the Schuyler County Sheriffâ??s Office, along with the Lancaster Police Department K-9 Unit, were called to the Queen City Senior Housing complex after receiving a call reporting a strong odor believed to be marijuana coming from one of the apartments.
Officers interviewed Cheryl Powell, 52, and received consent from her to search the apartment. They found marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia, along with prescription medication that had been altered from its original form and used in an unapproved way.
Powell was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Except less than 35 Grams Marijuana a Class C Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia amphetamine/methamphetamine a Class D Felony, Possession of Less than 35 Grams Marijuana a Class A Misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Marijuana a Class A Misdemeanor
Other charges are pending at this time.
Powell is currently being held on a $25,000.00 cash only bond.
The Queen City Police Department assisted on scene at the time of the arrest.
