Southeast Iowa man arrested for shooting a hunting dog
WAPELLO COUNTY, Iowa —
A Hedrick man was arrested last week after reportedly shooting a dog.
Around 1 p.m. on December 28th, Wapello County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the 4000 block of 165th street.
Alan Messerschmitt, 52, had fired a rifle at a hunting dog.
He was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree and Reckless Use of a Firearm.
He was taken to the Wapello County Jail and released on a $5,000 bond.
