The rain didn't put a stop to a holiday weekend tradition.
Kirksville residents got a chance to have a delicious breakfast Saturday morning.
The annual Joint Service Club Pancake Breakfast took place in the downtown Kirksville. The event was put on by the Kirksville's Kiwanis, Quota, Optimist, Women of Today, Sojourners and Rotary Service Clubs.
The breakfast first took place at Cinema 8 parking lot at the square. But organizers had to take the breakfast under the roof near Pickler's Famous due to the rainy weather.
For only $5, there was all you could eat pancakes with fruit toppings and sausage. There was also coffee and juice to drink.
Event planners said it took a lot of work to put all this together. But it was all worth it to help the community have fun this holiday weekend.
This was part of Kirksville's 10th annual Red, White and Blue Festival. All proceeds raised from the breakfast will go towards the city's 4th of July fireworks display..
