      Sheriff Hardwick has a plan to stop Meth abuse

      Pseudoephedrine, which is the main ingredient for cooking meth, is found in many over-the-counter cold medicines.

      Adair County Sheriff Robert Hardwick is working closely with the Kirksville Police chief and prosecuting attorney to have an ordinance passed preventing over the counter sales of these medications.

      The sheriff is asking the city of Kirksville to pay close attention to statistics and adopt the ordinance requiring doctor's prescription for the use of drugs containing the ingredient.

      ??The key ingredient that has pseudoephedrine in it is the cold medication that you currently have to get at a designated pharmacy in the state of Missouri or within our city, the city of Kirksville, but the key here is if you block out and you take out the cold medication you can not make methamphetamine,?? says Hardwick.Click the link below for more on methamphetamine:
