Sheriff's Department, OPD nab Ottumwa escapee

An Ottumwa man who escaped from a local correctional facility is back in custody.

Right around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, officers from the Ottumwa Police Department and Deputies from the Wapello County Sheriff's Department arrested Donald Shawn Fountain, 36.

According to Wapello County Chief Deputy Don Phillips, local officers received the assistance of the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force.

Fountain was arrested on a warrant for Absence from Custody that was issued on him after Fountain was placed on escape status after failing to return to the Ottumwa Residential Facility from employment on October 12, 2013.

He also had an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registry an Aggravated Misdemeanor and is being held in the Wapello County Jail without bond.

Arrested in connection with Fountain, was Priscilla Biessener, 33, of Ottumwa. She was charged with Accessory after the Fact.

Biessener was released after posting a $2,000 bond.

Fountain is one of three convicts to walk away from the Ottumwa Residential Facility this year.
