Sheriffâ??s office grateful for new patrol cars

Three new vehicles for the sheriff's office.

Wednesday morning was the recognition ceremony for the loan and grant provided to the Adair County Sheriff's Office for new vehicles.

The Adair County Road Maintenance Association, made up of the Adair County Commissioners, received a $68,000 Community Facility Loan and a $7,500 Community Facility Grant from the United States Department of Agriculture. The funds went toward three new vehicles for the sheriff's office. The previous vehicles had excessive mileage and needed continuous repairs.

Sheriff Robert Hardwick said they are very grateful for the new patrol cars.

â??These are very nice,â?? Hardwick said. â??(We are) very fortunate that the county commissioners, USDA and LouAnn Rongey (and the sheriffâ??s office) could all come together and form a partnership to qualify and be able to get these vehicles. So, we appreciate that very much. We all worked hard.â??

Representatives for Senator Claire Claire McCaskill, Senator Roy Blunt and Congressman Sam Graves were all present for the ceremony.
