Some small business owners are closing their doors due to the bad economy and getting another job. But others are making the most of the economic turmoil.

The Small Business Development Center, in coopertation with the U.S. Small Business Administration and University of Missouri Extension, provides management assistance to current and prospective small business owners.
"On a basis if they are not really sure where they stand. They think they are making money but the end of the month they don't have any cash flow, said Small Business Specialist Christopher Shoemaker. We can help them isolate what their problem is and help them determine what the problem is and help them get on the right path.
A session entitled 'Starting a Small Business: The First Steps' is being offered on September 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Kirksville Area Technical Center. There is a $39 fee for the event.
