Snowy roads cause several crashes in SE Iowa
FAIRFIELD, Iowa —
Thursday’s snow accumulation caused several crashes throughout Southeast Iowa.
KTVO passed one of them on Highway 34 near the Jefferson County Health Center around 2 p.m.
Jefferson County deputies were called to respond to the westbound lane, where at least two vehicles crashed, sending a pickup truck into the ditch, and leaving a car pretty banged up.
Authorities were not available right away to say if anyone was injured in the crash.
Traffic continued to flow as crews cleared the scene.
A few miles west of the crash, KTVO came up on another accident near Batavia, where deputies responded to a car that had also lost control and rolled into a ditch.
Around the same time in Ottumwa, crews were responding to a different crash in front of the Ottumwa 8 Theatre.
