Softball squad and Schieber honored for academics

Kendle Schieber added to her postseason honors and the IHCC softball team kept a streak alive when the National Junior College Athletic Association recognized academic performance by its member schools and student-athletes.

Schieber, who was earlier selected to all-region and all-district teams and was a second-team All-American following her sophomore season at Indian Hills, was named an Athlete of Distinction by the NJCAA. She was honored for her Superior Academic Achievement. Schieber is from Conception Junction, Mo.

The IHCC softball squad had a team grade point average of 3.25, earning All-Academic Team honors from the NJCAA for the 15th year in a row.

The softball team was among five IHCC teams named All-Academic Teams and Schieber was one of the six individuals recognized by the NJCAA for individual academic excellence.
