Southeast Iowa home a complete loss following fire

The fire happened just after 1 Monday afternoon on 200th Street just south of Drakesville, Iowa.

A southeast Iowa Amish family is without a home following a fire.

Crews responded to the scene on 200th Street just south of Drakesville early on Monday afternoon.

The home sits adjacent to H&W Custom Kitchens.

Fire departments from across Davis County responded to the scene. The home was a complete loss, but Davis County Sheriff Dave Davis says that no one was injured in the fire.

Davis says family members first noticed the fire in the chimney of the home.

Firefighters, including those from Drakesville, Pulaski, Floris and Bloomfield, battled the blaze for several hours.

Davis tells KTVO that the property is home to around a dozen people.
