Southeast Iowa husband, wife face drug charges
Bloomfield, Iowa —
Two southeast Iowa residents have been arrested and are facing drug charges.
On May 21, Kylie Owen, 31, and her husband, Austin Owen, 30, both of Bloomfield, were taken into custody by members of the Iowa Division of Narcotics and the Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force.
Kylie Owen has been charged with Manufacture of Marijuana, a Class D felony, and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, also a Class D felony.
Austin Owen has been charged with Possession of Marijuana, a Serious Misdemeanor, and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, a Class D felony.
Their arrests were the result of a narcotics investigation that included a search warrant that was executed on June 29, 2017 at the Owens' residence in Bloomfield.
Seized during that search was an indoor marijuana grow consisting of nearly 28 marijuana plants.
The search warrant was executed by the Iowa Division of Narcotics and the Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force and assisted by the Davis County Sheriff’s Office and the Bloomfield Police Department.
