Southeast Iowa Symphony performs "Kidsymphony", just for the kids

Saturday morning, kids and their parents had the opportunity to attend a special concert at Indian Hills Community College.

The concert featured the Southeast Iowa Symphony.

The program is entitled, â??Kidsymphony.â?? It is an opportunity to introduce kids and families to orchestral music; and this is something that the Southeast Iowa Symphony has been doing for a very long time.

â??It has been going on, I think for over 20 years now and a lot of orchestras do it around the country. Sometimes kids are bused in, and we often come to the Ottumwa area and do school concerts, but we decided we needed a special concert and weâ??ve done it in the fall every year. Basically it is just fun music. It is an introductory concert. We also like to invite adults who have not heard the orchestra as much,â?? said Bob McConnell, Music Director of the Southeast Iowa Symphony.

The organization held the exact same program Saturday afternoon in Mt. Pleasant and in Burlington.
