There was a celebration going on at Long Branch State Park in Macon Wednesday.
Dozens of people gathered at the park Wednesday afternoon to eat and celebrate with the Department of Natural Resources for its ribbon cutting dedication of the seawall.
The seawall is just north of the swim beach. It was built through a challenge partnership with the Corps of Engineers, the state parks and the Long Branch Lake Association. They started the project in November of 2010 and it was completed in July 2012.
The Natural Resource Manger Jered Wisdom said it has been a big hit.
â??They have loved it,â?? Wisdom said. â??They flock to it on the weekends and they have reunions, receptions and all kind of things like that.â??
