Stolen pick-up lands Ottumwa man in jail

A stolen truck has landed an Ottumwa man in jail.

Christopoher Orval Myers, 48, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Theft after an investigation into a stolen pick-up truck.

On July 23, the Wapello County Sheriff'S Office received a report of a stolen 1997 Dodge pick-up.

The next day, invesigators learned that the vehicle had been purchased by a salvage yard in Keokuk County and demolished.

The investigation evenutally led deputies to Myers.

If convicted, Myers faces up to five years in prison. He remains in custody on a $5,000 bond.
