JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Thunderstorms have postponed E. coli testing at the Lake of the Ozarks.
The Department of Natural Resources says the storms Monday prevented volunteers from collecting samples for the monthly bacteria test at the popular tourist lake in central Missouri. The sampling will be rescheduled for later in August.
The department recently has been criticized for delaying the public release of May test results showing high E. coli levels at the lake. It said the results of the August water sampling will be made public as soon as they are finalized.
