Many people have never gathered around the radio with their family to listen to stories, but for those who can remember radio's heyday the radio evokes great memories.
And Sunday afternoon at the Kirksville Arts Center, the Curtain Call Theatre Company gave families a chance to experience that once again.
Director Mark Willis said the performance is meant to give listeners a chance to use their imaginations again.
Many of the sound effects used were from shoes, chains and other creative items.
â??We are doing a 1940s style radio production of a Christmas Carol. (It's the) classic Dickens carol that speaks about basically redemption, getting caught up in greed and being reminded of what the real meaning of Christmas is all about,â?? Willis said.
The theatre company will have more productions next year.
