A Kirksville street improvement project that's forced a detour for quite some time will soon be a traffic headache for Truman State University students.
Move-in day for new Truman students is set for this coming Saturday and the Franklin Street project is still not completed.
The project has been underway for several weeks and as of 10 Monday morning, a portion of Franklin Street reopened to local traffic between Normal Avenue and the entrance to the parking lot South of McClain Hall.
The section of Franklin Street, south to Patterson Street, will remain closed to through traffic for street construction and crosswalk installation.
City officials and construction workers strongly urge all drivers to use caution in and around the construction zone.
