Streetscape plans postponed

City Council decided not postpone discussing streetscape at Thursday night's meeting.

The controversial streetscape project in Bloomfield, Iowa, took a minor break Thursday night. City Council officials were scheduled to reread and discuss the ordinance about getting rid of the angle parking in the middle of the streets surrounding the square, and adding parking outside of the Court House.

Interim Director of Public Works Chris Ball says they decided to postpone the discussion to a later date because they need to talk to Davis County officials first.

Ball did tell KTVO Wednesday that the city is thinking about hiring a painter to create a visual of what the square will look like when the streetscape project is over.
