The first widespread snowstorm slid across the Midwest and brought blustery winds and snowfall to the Heartland.
The large winter storm packed a good punch, and forced some school and event cancellations.
The storm brought whiteout conditions to parts of Kirksville, which caused traffic to crawl and caused a semi to jackknife into a ditch.
We ran into a few other accidents and got calls and reports of cars stalled on the side of roadways
Amy Crawford with MoDOT tells us you should be careful and take your time on the roads.
"We want to make sure that motorists slow down, buckle up and give themselves ample time to get where they're going. Be sure and give those trucks that are clearing the roads plenty of space," Crawford said.
She says road crews will be working around the clock to make sure the roads are as clear as possible. Crews will work on major roadways first, and then move to the minor routes.
The good news is the snow has moved out of the Kirksville area.Donâ??t forget to find us on:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ktvotv Twitter: https://twitter.com/KTVO YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/ktvotv
