Student Alliance Program gives students a chance to know the Missouri State Highway Patrol

If you are a high school junior or senior interested in learning what it takes to be a Missouri State Highway Patrol is a chance to find out.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol will be conducting a Student Alliance Program on Saturday March 15 and 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m at the Troop B Headquarters in Macon.

During the program, students will participate in a variety of educational and hands-on activities including: traffic safety, crime scene investigation, and firearms at the gun range.

"We think it's a lot of fun. Our instructors who take part in this have a lot of fun with the kids. It's a good way to recruit young people. Certainly those who are in high school who are starting to think about what their career might be. We want to urge anybody who is interested in the Missouri State Highway Patrol to take part in this particular event," said Sgt.Brent Bernhardt of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The program will be limited to 20 students.

Applications must be received by February 15.
