Students and faculty honor retirees
There comes a time when a school has to say goodbye to an educator or employee.
On Tuesday, Mary Immaculate School celebrated the service of Mary Meyer and Marsha Ordonio.
Students, family and staff all filed in for the ceremony as a group of students harmonized together with a song dedicated to the women.
Meyer is the seventh and eighth grade homeroom teacher who said she plans to travel during her retirement.
â??I have loved it here,â?? Meyer said. â??This is the best place I have ever taught in 30 years of teaching.â??
The students also presented both women with gifts and created a skit showing Ordonio how much they appreciated her cooking for the past fifteen years.
â??It's been an honor and a privileged to see so many children go through here,â?? Ordonio said.
Both women opened two of their gifts from the children. Meyer received a book from the students and Ordonio received an apron signed by all the students. Meyer and Ordonio were both very touched from the love and appreciation they received.
They closed the ceremony out by everyone blessing both women.
