Students host fashion show to benefit Heifer International
Truman State University students got a glimpse into fashions from other cultures, all while raising money for a great cause.
The International Club at the university held a fashion show in order to help raise money for Heifer International. Seven different countries including India, Vietnam and the United States were represented in the show. Clothing choices from the countries included evening wear, everyday apparel, and even pajamas. Members of the International Club hope to purchase 5 llamas for Heifer International with donations and ticket sales raised from the show.
"I just think it's a really amazing organization, and it's a really neat philosophy. I think it's something very different than a lot of other non-profits that you see out there, and we really wanted to give them some money" said Jamie Miller, a member of the International Club.
This is the first fashion show held by the International Club, and they plan to host more in the future.
