One northeast Missouri community is kicking off fair season already.
The Sullivan County Fair is taking place from now until Saturday at the American Legion Building and Grounds in Milan.
KTVO was there Wednesday afternoon for the 4-H and Clover Kid Shows.
Throughout the week, kids of all ages in 4-H and FFA from Milan, Green City and other surrounding communities will be exhibiting their agricultural projects and farm animals to be judged and win awards.
We're told this is an exciting time for everyone involved.
"I'm excited about it and excited about the new things going to happen," said Fair Princess Vanessa Smith.
"It will be great to see the youth of Sullivan County and Missouri to come and exhibit their animals," said Fair Queen Samantha Coulson.
"We're excited every year for the kids and their project. It's a good experience for all to show off what they done over the year and showcase their efforts," said Fair Board Member Penny Bronk.
The only big difference this year is that the Sullivan County Fair is being held much earlier than usual to allow participants to showcase in other neighboring county fairs in the coming weeks.
