Summer is almost over which means the summer parties are also winding down.
The Kirksville Parks and Recreation Department held their final summer neighborhood block party at Brashear Park Saturday evening. It was a fun theme of "Under The Sea."
There were a ton of fun activities. It all ranged from water balloons to fishing games. There was also crafts such sand art and paper fishes.
All just to enjoy the season while it's still here.
"I think school is about to begin so I think everybody had I want to do one last one summer activity and it's great the neighborhood and the entire community got together and came here tonight to celebrate," said said Recreation Assistant Courtney Pierce.
The wading pool was also opened to allow families to cool off from the summer heat.
There was even grilled hot dogs to enjoy and chow down on.
The department hope to bring the summer block parties series back next year.
