Summer on the Square concert series is back
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
You may have noticed community members starting to gather around the square on Friday nights in the past couple weeks.
It's because Summer on the Square has kicked off.
The Kirksville Arts Association's event series Summer on the Square will be held every single Friday this summer during June, July and August at 7:00 p.m. on the south side of the square.
It's a time where hundreds of people stop by to listen to all different types of music genres from country to gospel to pop, rock and more.
This Friday, a blues band from Columbia called the Fried Crawdaddies is set to perform.
Steven Russon with the performing arts committee on the Kirksville Arts Association board told KTVO that it's a great gathering place for families on the upcoming holiday weekend.
"The next one will be connected to the whole Fourth of July celebration that the city puts on," Russon said. "We'll be kicking that off with a country group that comes every year. There is always something good there and I really think everyone should get away from the TV for a minute and come on down."
Summer on the Square is free for everyone who wants to attend.
