Summer was a hit for parks group
Summer is almost over which means a time to look back for one Heartland committee.
It was once again a busy time this summer season for the Kirksville Lakes, Parks and Recreation Committee.
The committee met Tuesday to discuss their summer activities and programs.
The group was very happy overall with the success of most of the summer programs and how much fun they help brought to the city.
"We basically just covered the attendance for the pool as well as the registrations for the programs in the status of the McKinney Bark Park," said Recreation Specialist Robin Harden.
The bark park is very close to completion. The park is still not open to the public but hopes it will be very soon.
The committee is looking ahead to the fall season. Old favorites such as Dinner Theater and Breakfast with Santa will return later this year.
